In today's video, we're discussing a brand new kernel vulnerability (CVE-2023-23514) discovered by Google Project Zero as well as Pangu Team for iOS 16.3 and lower. The vulnerability could potentially be used for jailbreak purposes. Initially, I thought that it wasn't patched yet, but it turns out the vulnerability was patched in iOS 16.3.1, thus making it available for iOS 16.3 and lower. According to Apple, if used, the vulnerability could be used to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
We're unaware for now whether the vulnerability is 100% usable for jailbreak purposes, but the vulnerability was found independently both by Google Project Zero's Ned Williamson, as well as Pangu Team.
