Why would SIM cards not work with devices with the checkm8 CFW iCloud bypasses? An iCloud lock isn't an IMEI lock, as far as I know.

because for bypass icloud you are forced to modify or delete the Setup.app present in your future CFW, and it is precisely in setup.app that the baseband is configured thanks to the communication with the server albert.apple.com which te provided a validation ticket to configure your baseband (operator, 4G ...), so if you bypass icloud you do not configure your modem, so your SIM card can not work .... if I understood after all my research, however what I do not understand is that when starting the iphone block icloud we can put a sim card to activate it and the network works perfectly.
it should be when in the future a developer finds a way to provide a fake validation ticket, which apparently is very complicated since they are tickets provided by Apple and are random. in the meantime I can not find any subject that really talks about making the sim card work ...

I suggest , after I red the entire Icloud_lock or Bypass  that we may see the current under Mac, and create a Windows topic icloud_lock Bypass version.
We should be able to browse , get answers, of all our questions and answers on old devices, and new devices , the old/ & new  methodology& implementation it is early now  since the forum not yet 2000 member, the historic of old are pieces here and there, and should be her .. !!!

The following iCloud Bypass methods are tried and true. They work relatively fully. The device gets bypassed successfully and it will persist even after restart or a restore/update, however, in some cases you should never update the device. Please do keep in mind that there is NO WAY in 2019 you can get the SIM Card working with a bypass. The device will be bypassed with the following methods, but you will never be able to place calls or receive calls/text messages with your SIM CARD. 

The reason the SIM card does not work is that the fake Activation Ticket generated by these services/tools cannot accommodate the SIM card so the device's internal checks are not all bypassed. Some of them remain active and prevent the SIM card from working. A legit Apple Activation Ticket would be created around your SIM Card and it will allow it to be used on the phone. The goal of these bypass methods is to allow full iCloud Bypass so that you can use the device for apps and internet browsing. There is currently very little interest from developers to build any carrier activation bypass, so please do not flood the forum.
