I happily upgraded to iOS 15 beta 4 just now in anticipation of October’s Fugu 15 jailbreak. So, I’m no longer waiting on iOS 15.2. Problem is that the old beta upgrade notification is back as soon as whenever I unlock. Anyway, I installed the block ota beta profile for iOS 15, but the persistent notification to upgrade remained. Any ideas to be rid of it?
Excuse me. That’s 15.5 beta 4 I was talking about with the annoying popup.
There was a host file you could use with dns-cloak but im not sure if that still works but basically it blocks the update servers from being reached so the popup doesnt appear.

Yes! You’re quite right! Thanks, I had forgotten about that. It was called something like “DNS cloak”. Right. I’ll check around. But still, it might only be usable once I jailbreak. I think a jailbreak tweak is the only hope of getting rid of this popup.
I just reinstalled DNSCloak, but I don’t even remember which settings to use. I’ll just wait for the Fugu jailbreak.
You need to get a host file on your phone then in the settings of dns cloak find blacklist and choose the host file that blocks the update servers

Haha! You’re right on again. And you’re really jogging my memory. Yes, I just searched for a suitable host file to block the apple update servers, but couldn’t find one. And I’ve never written one myself. But it’s nice to have my memory about this refreshed. I should have remembered, but it just gets worse with my advancing age. It seems that last use for this was quite awhile ago.
Yeah i remeber doing it on ios 10 and if you search for a "apple update server host file" put the pharse in the quotes into google im sure you will find a suitable one then just upload it to your icloud then download it on your iphone

If i remember right i think there are only 3 to 4 lines you need and they are
swscan.apple.com
mesu.apple.com
ocsp.apple.com
world-gen.g.aaplimg.com
gdmf.apple.com
im not 100% sure but thats whats in a old host file i have for blocking updates and ad's i would give you the whole file but with all the ad servers it is really big LoL
